What you can and can't do with the Farpane software.
- Free to install and use, at home or at work, on as many of your devices as you like.
- Closed source: no copying, modifying, reverse engineering or sharing it elsewhere.
- Open-source parts it's built with keep their own licenses.
Copyright
Farpane, both the app for phones and tablets and the app for computers, including its code, design, name and logo, is © 2026 Spidey. All rights reserved. Farpane is closed-source software: it's free to use, but it is not open source.
What you may do
Spidey gives you a free, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable license to:
- download Farpane from its official page, spidey.in/farpane, or from an official store listing;
- install it on computers and devices you own or are allowed to use, as many as you like;
- use it for personal purposes or at work, including in a business, school or organisation.
What you may not do
Unless Spidey has given you written permission, you may not:
- copy Farpane, except to install it or to keep a backup of the installer for yourself;
- modify, translate or adapt it, or make works based on it;
- reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble it, or try to work out its source code, except where the law gives you a right to do so that can't be taken away by agreement, and then only as far as that right goes;
- share, publish, sell, rent, lend, sublicense or host Farpane for others, or offer it for download anywhere else (link to the official page instead);
- remove or change any copyright notice, name or logo in it;
- use Farpane, or any part of it, to build a product that competes with it.
Open-source parts
Farpane is built with, and runs alongside, open-source software made by others, each under its own license. This license doesn't limit any rights those licenses give you over those parts.
The full license texts come with those components, and are available from their projects.
Updates
This license covers updates of Farpane too, unless an update comes with its own terms.
Ending
This license lasts until it ends. It ends automatically if you break it, and Spidey may end it by notice. When it ends, you must stop using Farpane and delete every copy.
Warranty and liability
Farpane comes with no warranty, and Spidey's liability is limited, as set out in the terms of use, which apply together with this license.
